The most unmatched skill between a first and second year atom player in rep try-outs is their intensity to go after and hang on to the puck. Often times players new to rep try-outs have had no real exposure to playing with players a year older and don’t understand how much more difficult it is to battle and compete for the puck.

In try-outs the players are so evenly matched that anything they can do to get the puck on their stick more often will get them noticed more by coaches making selection. If you would like to have your son or daughter better prepared for try-outs we suggest you look into our checking and battle camps. This clinic will better prepare your child for what to expect and how to check and protect the hockey puck.

The focus of the clinic is to give every player the proper tools and confidence to check and compete for the hockey puck. Players are grouped into 2 to 4 stations on the ice, depending on the drills, and there are four qualified coaches on the ice each session. Players will receive constant feedback and pointers. This is a great tune up camp for rep try-outs.
